Three Tips on Finding Time for You

Everyone has twenty-four hours in a day. Many of us have those hours stuffed to the brim. How in the world are we supposed to find more time? Time to be frivolous? Time for us?

Some tips for finding “me” time.

1. Start small, even fifteen minutes helps. Remember when your children were small and you were glad to need to use the toilet because it gave you two minutes of quiet, alone time? You don’t have to go to that extreme. But, how about using your shower time in the morning to relax and rejuvenate rather than thinking about everything you need to do today? Let the water wash over you and wash your tension, away.

2. If you have a job away from home use your lunch time for you. Go to a park and eat lunch. Enjoy the beautify of the outdoors. Go for a short walk after lunch, to clear your head, and get out of the office. Change your environment, at least for a few minutes.

3. Make you a priority. Financial experts recommend placing money in a savings account before paying bills, making the savings a priority. According to them, if we don’t “pay ourselves” first, we don’t do it at all because the money disappears. It’s the same with time, put yourself on the top of your to-do list, a priority, something that is done first. Otherwise we get to the end of the day, wore out and spent, with nothing left for us.

I hope these tips will help you begin to find a way to spend time on yourself. You are important and need to take care of you.
