Two for Tuesday

Did you know that July is National Blueberry Month? At least according to Brownielocks it is.  It makes sense, in many states July is the end of blueberry season. Luckily, frozen blueberries are almost as good as fresh.

Did you know that blueberries are one of the healthiest foods you can eat? Cool, tastes good and is good for you. Great combination.

How are blueberries good for you?

1. They are considered a “superfood.”  This is a new term, we just had “good for you” food back when I was younger. Now we have SUPERFOODS. For the most part it’s a marketing term used  to indicate a particular food is beneficial for health and well-being. Dark chocolate also made the list, so maybe a superfood is both healthy and tastes good?

2, Blueberries are sunscreen for the eyes.  Eating Blueberries can help protect our eyes even if we forget our sunglasses.  The good stuff in them can help prevent, or at least delay, age-related eye issues including, cataracts and macular degeneration.

There you have it, two healthy reasons to enjoy the tastiness of blueberries. Whether you have them in a pie, topping ice cream, or as a smoothie, blueberries are good food. They both taste good and are good for you.

There are several other benefits of this yummy fruit. However, this is Two for Tuesday, so I limited the benefits to two.

Why Two for Tuesday?  I borrowed it from my friend Shel Harrington. Shel does a Friday Five, (which she borrowed from someone else.) On Friday she lists five facts, ideas, jokes, inspirational, entertaining ideas and/or thoughts. Her list may be related or five random topics.  Her goal, and mine, is to leave you with a new thought, and maybe a smile.

I know, Friday Five means five ideas or thoughts, and they are posted on Friday. So why am I posting on Tuesday and only two ideas? Because, I already to Fitness Five on Friday and Five Minute Friday, my Friday is full. Although, the Five Minute Friday often gets moved to Saturday. *shrug* I needed a different day.

What day to pick? Since I like alliteration, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday were all available. Saturday was out, that’s when I post Five Minute Friday, remember? Sundays, I like the idea of posting  a single inspirational thought or a picture.

Now, just Tuesday and Thursdays are available. A flip of the coin made it Tuesday. The numbers available were, two, three, and ten.

Yikes. Ten thoughts, no, too many. Three? Sure, but three would work better on Thursday. So two it is.

What do you think? Would you rather I go with Thursday Three? How about (please, no) Tuesday or Thursday Ten?

What is your favorite way to eat blueberries?

riday Five. It may be informational, entertaining, inspirational, or some combination. It may be five related thoughts, or five random topics. But it will be short. And it will leave you with a new thought, idea, or smile on your face.
