Sharing a Birthday with Cookie Monster and Healthy Eating Day

National Healthy Eating Day and Cookie Monster Day. Perfect combination, right?

img_0712Healthy Eating day, of course, encourages eating foods that are “good” for us. Cookies don’t always fall in that category. Still, it’s a great combination.

However, cookies can be considered healthy. Maybe not eating a whole package or cookie sheet full at one time. But, really, sitting down to a glass of milk (or cup of tea) and a couple of cookies can be relaxing and a good way to decompress.

So, go ahead and eat your healthy meal. Then top it off with a couple of your favorite cookies and drink while you relax , enjoy the moment and send Cookie Monster, happy birthday thoughts.

Why is today Healthy eating day? Most likely because if falls after Halloween, which involves plenty of non-healthy eating. It’s a day to get back on track if you helped empty your trick-or-treat bowl.

Cookie Monster DayNation

As for why it’s Cookie Monster day. According to the Sesame Street Dictionary, today is Cookie Monster’s birthday and he  proclaimed it, his day.

Today is also the birthday of my two boys. And yes, they both like cookies. Which is why they are today’s for Gifts from my husband  Although, the boys are a little older than the blue cookie eating puppet.

I won’t mention their birth year, but they were already watching Sesame Street when Cookie Monster made his appearance.

The boys enjoy spending time together either one-on-one, or with their families. They are both great dads, and are available to help me when needed. Yes, they are twins. I know, they don’t look like twins.

What holiday would you proclaim for your birthday if you could?

What is your favorite cookie?

What is your gift from your husband today?

Don’t forget to share your gratitude on twitter with me, #giftsfrommyhusband.  You can also post them here in the comments, on my facebook page,  or on your blog. Please leave a link so we can enjoy your gratitudes with you.
